This free talk and slide show, sponsored by the Friends of the Leverett
Library, will be held on Wednesday, May 21, in the Community Room. Refreshments will be served. Supported by a grant from the Leverett Cultural Council.

POSTPONED!!!

Ancient Wisdom in the Woods, a 2-part program, will be offered by Eva Gibavic. On Tuesday evening, May 5, she will present a slideshow about the many ancient stone structures located in Leverett and surrounding area, structures that may have been used for ceremonial purposes several thousand years ago. On Saturday, May 10, she will lead a 2-3 hour hike to view several of these structures. She has traveled throughout the US and the British Isles photographing and researching ancient stone structures. Funded by a grant from the Leverett Cultural Council.  This program has been postponed until further notice.

Budding Filmmakers Take Note

The Recreation Commission and the Leverett Library are sponsoring a documentary film contest. Your challenge: to make a 15-minute documentary about Leverett (or any aspect of life in Leverett). The entries (which may be in digital form or on a videocassette) will be projected onto the screen for a public viewing on Sunday afternoon, May 4, at the Leverett Library, and a panel of distinguished judges will select winners in 2 categories: youth (up to age 15) and adult (age 16 and up). Prizes will be given.

Farm Day

We had so much fun at our first farm day celebration several years ago that we are holding it again (with thanks to the town Agricultural Commission). Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 12, 10-3, and come to see baby farm animals, tractors, and lots of displays and demonstrations from your neighbors who are keeping agriculture alive in Leverett.

Congratulations to Cailey Condit, creator of this website, for winning the ARHS annual prize for best website for her work.
